Tehran (ANTARA) - Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated on Thursday (4/6) that Israel must immediately cease its attacks against the Lebanese people and withdraw its forces from occupied Lebanese territories. In a statement published via their official media outlet, Sepah News, the IRGC reaffirmed that Iran’s primary condition for accepting the ceasefire reached on 8 April with the United States and Israel is the implementation of a comprehensive ceasefire across all fronts, including Lebanon. In an interview broadcast by the Lebanese media outlet Al Mayadeen on Wednesday (3/6), Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi warned that Iran would respond if Israel attacks Beirut. He stated that Tehran has informed all parties that Iran will not tolerate attacks on the Lebanese capital, noting that such actions could trigger the outbreak of war once again. These developments occur as Israel and Hezbollah continued to exchange attacks on Thursday, despite Israel and Lebanon agreeing on Wednesday to implement a ceasefire following trilateral negotiations in Washington. The ceasefire is contingent upon the complete cessation of Hezbollah’s attacks and the withdrawal of all its members from areas south of the Litani River. Previously on Thursday, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem revealed that resistance against Israel would continue, and that Israeli settlements would remain unsafe as long as the Israeli occupation and attacks on Lebanese territory persist.
