IRGC Promises New Weapons That Will Amaze the World
The spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hossein Mohebbi, has stated that there will be a “significant change” in Iran’s defensive and retaliatory operations should new attacks by the US occur. This shift will be marked by the announcement of new weaponry claimed to amaze the world.
“These changes include a shift in the geography of war as well as changes in the types of weapons and military equipment,” he told local media. “We will deploy new weapons with new capabilities to the battlefield, and the world will be amazed.”
He added, “Our targets do not also have to be the same as previous targets. We have new targets that have never been attacked.”
The Iranian IRGC stated that it has intercepted and destroyed a US MQ-1 drone over the Strait of Hormuz. In statements broadcast by Iranian news agencies, the IRloGC noted that while the US had actually retired the MQ-1 drone, it was forced to re-operate it after losing many more advanced MQ-9 units.
“Both types of drones are now targets of intensive hunting by the IRGC’s new air defence systems,” the statement read. The US Air Force had previously retired the MQ-1 Predator variant in 2018.
The Iranian military expressed its belief that the US plans to launch renewed attacks against the country and promised to retaliate “without limits” if Washington realises such plans.
“Based on information received, the once criminal America has once again decided to continue actions against Iran—with the blessing of several regional countries—during a joint meeting in a European country,” stated the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters on Sunday.
It also warned regional nations that they would all “be considered involved” if they support US attacks, asserting that they “can no longer expect restraint or politeness” from Iranian forces.
Meanwhile, US media reports suggest that Trump is in a “decision-making stage” and that “very big things will happen in the near future”.
Speaking to Fox News, Trump stated that the available options are “to eliminate Iran, let them be economically destroyed, or reach a deal”. “My question is whether and when I will destroy the entire country? They had better behave,” he remarked.
The US virtual embassy to Iran has also issued a security warning, advising citizens not to travel to Iran for any reason and to leave the country immediately.
Previously, Iran’s security chief Mohsen Rezaei stated that Tehran had submitted a list of requirements to the US to end the conflict. He also emphasised Iran’s readiness to face new attacks, saying: “We will face America with greater strength, as well as more numerous and more painful attacks.”
