IRGC Issues Stern Warning: War Could Expand Beyond the Middle East If US-Israel Launch Another Attack

Tehran — Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday (20 May 2026) issued a warning that new aggression by the United States (US) and Israel against Iran would trigger a war wider than the Middle East region. The IRGC stressed that Iran would launch a retaliatory strike that would catch the enemy off guard.

In a hardline statement quoted by Mehr News on Wednesday (20 May 2026), the IRGC referred to the ‘American-Zionist enemy’, saying that Washington and Israel have failed to learn from repeated strategic defeats and are once again spreading threats. The IRGC said that although the US and Israel launched full-scale attacks in the previous war, Iran has not yet deployed its full capabilities in retaliation.

If aggression repeats, the IRGC asserted, ‘the war in the region that had previously been promised will this time expand beyond the region (the Middle East), and our crushing blow will bring you to pieces of damage you cannot imagine.’

Quoting verses from the Quran, in fighting those who break their oaths and mock their faith, the IRGC declared, ‘We are the men of war, and you will see our strength on the battlefield, not in empty statements and virtual pages.’
