IRGC Claims to Ravage IDF Headquarters and Israeli Defence Ministry
Escalation of the Middle East conflict has reached a new boiling point. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) formally announced the success of its strike at the heart of Israel’s defence, in the latest retaliatory attack launched on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. In an official statement released by Fars News Agency, the IRGC claimed to have struck the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) General Staff Headquarters and the Israeli Ministry of Defence building. The massive assault was reported not only to target command centres but also to destroy a number of strategic infrastructures in the Bnei Brak area, a military installation in Petah Tikva northeast of Tel Aviv, and a military base in Western Galilee. In the same release, the IRGC claimed that more than 680 United States–Israeli troops had been killed or wounded since the open conflict with Iran began. The tension came in the wake of a large-scale air strike conducted by the United States and Israel on 28 February, which hit several vital sites in Iran, including Tehran, causing extensive damage and civilian casualties. The darkest moment occurred when Iran’s state television confirmed that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had been killed in the attack, a development that triggered a wave of retaliatory missile strikes from Iran against Israeli territory and US military bases across the Middle East.
