IRGC claims strike on US Naval base in Bahrain with missiles and drones
Tehran – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) claimed on Thursday (12 January) that its naval forces had struck the US Fifth Fleet base at Mina Salman port in Bahrain with missiles and drones.
In a statement published on the IRGC’s official media outlet, Sepah News, the group claimed it had launched two waves of attacks in the early hours of Thursday, delivering a “decisive blow” to the US military base.
The IRGC stated it had conducted precision strikes using kamikaze drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles against several enemy targets, including an anti-drone system and a warehouse for remotely operated underwater vehicles.
On 28 February, Israel and the United States launched a joint strike on Tehran and several other Iranian cities, killing Iran’s then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, along with senior military commanders and civilians. Iran responded by launching multiple waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and US bases and assets across the Middle East.
