Irfan Yusuf Arrives at Jeddah Airport and Immediately Greets Pilgrims
Jeddah, Kompas.com - The Amirul Hajj team led by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah as Amirul Hajj Mochamad Irfan Yusuf arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday evening, 19 May 2026. The team is carrying out a diplomatic mission and ensuring that all Hajj service processes run smoothly. Irfan Yusuf’s arrival was accompanied by several figures, including Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhaimin Iskandar and Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Romo Muhammad Syafii. To the pilgrims, Gus Irfan asked about their condition. Some pilgrims also invited him to take photos together. ‘How are you, ma’am, are you well?’ he asked a pilgrim from the group flight 37, embarkation Kertajati. The team in Saudi Arabia continues to refine services in Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna) ahead of the peak Hajj pilgrimage on 9 Dzulhijjah or 26 May 2026. According to Gus Irfan, services at Armuzna will be one of the benchmarks for the success of all Hajj service operations in 2026. He also urged officials to maintain good service performance until the Armuzna process is completed. ‘The pinnacle of Hajj is Armuzna; if Armuzna runs as expected, it means the success is 80 percent,’ he said. Earlier, on Monday (18 May 2026), the Amirul Hajj team led by Deputy Amirul Hajj and Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah RI Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak arrived at Jeddah Airport. Dahnil’s delegation immediately proceeded to Mecca with the main task of conducting a diplomatic mission and supervising Hajj service operations.
