On the eve of Idul Adha, Irfan Hakim, a well-known presenter, is again in the spotlight. Not only for his herd of sacrificial animals but also for the line of buyers ordering cattle from him. He disclosed that prominent figures, including President Prabowo Subianto, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya (Seskab), and fellow celebrity Raffi Ahmad, have bought premium cows from his farm.

Hakim, who has a keen interest in farming, particularly premium cattle, said he is grateful for the trust shown by these national figures. He said the cattle quality passes strict selection and care processes to ensure they are suitable for sacrifice.

President Prabowo Subianto is reported to have selected a cow with a massive weight for this year’s sacrifice. The president’s involvement in choosing cattle from a local farm run by a public figure like Irfan Hakim signals support for the domestic livestock sector.

According to information gathered, President Prabowo places a strong emphasis on meat quality. This aligns with the president’s latest directive emphasising proper distribution of sacrificial meat, including plans to ship Indonesian hajj meat to Palestine as a humanitarian gesture.

In addition to the President, Seskab Teddy Indra Wijaya is said to have secured a sacrificial cow via Irfan Hakim. The close working relationship between the Seskab and the President appears to be reflected in selecting a trusted meat provider.

Not to be outdone, Raffi Ahmad has again entrusted his family’s sacrificial cow arrangements to Irfan. The long-standing friendship between them facilitates coordination in selecting the best cows for Raffi Ahmad’s extended family.

As national Idul Adha preparations continue to be strengthened, President Prabowo Subianto has instructed that the management of sacrificial animals be conducted professionally, including the use of sacrificial meat for international aid to Palestinians.

Hakim explains that the cows bought by officials and celebrities are of premium breeds such as Limousin and Simmental, with weights over 1 tonne. Care includes specialised nutrition and regular health checks by veterinarians.

“Alhamdulillah, this trust is a mandate. We ensure all cattle are healthy, of appropriate age, and compliant with Islamic law for slaughter,” Hakim said.

The trend of public figures buying cattle from fellow celebrities is not only a seasonal phenomenon but also drives the economy of Indonesia’s creative farming sector. With backing from the nation’s leadership to popular figures, public interest in sacrificing cattle of top quality is expected to rise.
