IRCS: US-Israeli Attacks on Iran Kill Over 200, Injure 750
Tehran — At least 201 people have been killed and 747 others injured in Iran as a result of attacks by the United States and Israel, according to the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) on Saturday.
“Thus far, 747 people have been injured and 201 have died,” the organisation stated, as cited by the Mehr news agency.
Iranian rescue teams reported recording attacks across 24 of the nation’s 31 provinces.
On Saturday morning (28 February), Israel’s Defence Ministry announced that it had launched an attack on Iran and declared an emergency status across the country.
Shortly thereafter, the United States also conducted attacks against several Iranian targets from the air and sea, according to Reuters reporting on Saturday (28 February), citing a US official.
In a retaliatory response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed the launch of an initial wave of rocket attacks against Israel. Tehran fired missiles and drones towards Israel in response to what it characterised as aggression by the Zionist regime against Iran.
Iran’s retaliatory attacks also targeted several US military bases in the Middle East region, including those in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.
