JAKARTA (JP): Iraqi Vice-President Taha Yassin Ramadhan is scheduled to arrive here on Tuesday morning for a three-day official visit as the guest of Indonesian Vice-President Try Sutrisno.
During his stay, Taha will pay a courtesy call to President Soeharto and engage in discussions with Try on a range of bilateral, regional and international issues.
This is Taha's second visit to Indonesia. His first trip here was in 1992 to attend the Non-Aligned Movement Summit.
According to the State Secretary's office, Taha is expected to confer the latest developments of the on-going United Nations economic embargo imposed on Baghdad.
Indonesia, which holds a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council, has supported easing sanctions against Iraq.
On Thursday Taha will fly to Bandung to tour the aircraft manufacturing plant of the state-owned IPTN. He will also visit the Asia-Africa Museum before leaving Indonesia in the afternoon. (mds)
