Iran's supreme leader calls for Muslim unity against 'true enemy'

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Sunday (30/8) called on leaders of Muslim countries to recognise their ‘true enemy’, understand their schemes, and resist them.

In a written message commemorating the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, Khamenei stressed that the solution to the various problems of the Islamic world lies in maintaining unity, friendship and cooperation in pursuing good and virtue.

The Iranian supreme leader said, ‘My firm and repeated advice to the leaders of Islamic countries, especially in the West Asia and Persian Gulf region, is to recognise your true enemy, understand their plans, and resist them.’

He described the ‘criminal rulers’ of the United States and Israel as the ‘sworn enemies’ of unity and friendship among Muslim countries.

He also stated that they are the ‘enemy’ of Iran and its people, of the resistance front, and of the entire Muslim world, including countries in the West Asia and North Africa region.

Khamenei also called on Islamic countries to avoid conflict and discord among themselves, to defend one another, and to encourage cooperation and synergy within the Muslim world.

He said that highlighting differences would only give hope to ‘parties with ill intentions’, adding that closer unity is the main foundation for realising an Islamic civilisation.
