Tehran (ANTARA) — The United States is seeking to sow chaos in Iran with the aim of splitting the country, said Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, on Saturday. “The enemy strategy [the US–Israel] is to sow chaos in Iran so that they can easily split this country into several parts,” Larijani said, as cited by the state broadcaster IRIB. Larijani added that several US soldiers have been captured. On 28 February, the US and Israel launched a series of attacks on a number of targets inside Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran’s state television confirmed the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as a result of the attacks. Iran then responded by launching missile strikes into Israel and at US military facilities in the Middle East.
