The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has strongly condemned Israel’s killing of senior Hamas commanders in the Gaza Strip. The IRGC warned that peace in the Middle East is impossible unless Israel is completely eradicated. In a statement reported by Press TV on Friday, 29 May 2026, the IRGC strongly condemned Israel’s assassination of two senior Hamas commanders, Mohammed Odeh and Ezzeddin al-Haddad, also known as Abu Suhaib. Both were senior leaders of Hamas’s armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades. Odeh was reportedly killed along with his wife and three children in an Israeli strike in Gaza City. The IRGC stated that their deaths ‘once again reveal the predatory and malevolent nature of the Zionist regime.’ In a statement released on Thursday, 28 May, the IRGC affirmed that the region ‘will not know peace until this evil and child-killing regime is eradicated from the face of the Earth’ — referring to Israel. Hamas, an Iranian ally, confirmed Odeh’s death following a major Israeli airstrike in Gaza City on Wednesday, 27 May. Odeh was a key figure in the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, having assumed his role just days earlier to replace Al-Haddad, who was killed in an Israeli attack on 15 May. The IRGC also criticised the so-called peace plan for Gaza announced by US President Donald Trump earlier this year, calling it ineffective and dangerous. ‘The so-called peace plan discussed by the American president, who is evil and reckless, is meaningless in the face of killings, massacres, and terror,’ the IRGC stated. Furthermore, the IRGC condemned the unconditional support provided by the US and its Western allies to Israel. The IRGC added that Israel’s decades-long track record ‘once again exposes the truth to the world, particularly to those claiming to defend human rights and the freedoms of nations.’
