Iran is continuing its revenge efforts after the United States and Israel launched a joint attack in February 2026. A senior Israeli security official says cyber attacks from Iran against Israel have surged dramatically since the new war in the Middle East began.

The Director General of the Israel National Cyber Directorate, Yossi Karadi, revealed the figures to German media Die Welt. He said that in June 2026, when Israel launched military operations against Iran, the country detected 1,600 cyber incidents.

That number has since jumped to 4,800 incidents in the same period. This demonstrates that Iran’s fight is not only on the physical battlefield but is also being waged covertly from within Israel.

“Some of the groups [of Iranian hackers] are very skilled. We can deal with it, but we have to take it very seriously. Unlike the physical arena, there is no ceasefire in cyberspace,” Karadi said, as quoted by Reuters from an interview with Die Welt.

Karadi further explained that the attacks from within target systems used for Israel’s critical infrastructure, central institutions, and small to medium-sized companies. There are also less massive attacks targeting law practices and accounting firms.

“So far, we have been able to deal with the attacks on critical infrastructure,” he said.

Companies that are easier to breach often end up having data wiped from their computer systems. However, Karadi did not disclose the identities of the victimised companies.

Iran typically denies conducting hacking campaigns against other nations, while simultaneously reporting attacks directed at itself.
