Iran’s Armed Forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have reportedly struck a number of United States military bases and facilities across the Middle East. This massive assault was launched as a retaliatory action for prior aggression carried out by the US military against Iranian territory.

“Through two waves of defensive operations, the formidable soldiers of the IRGC Aerospace Force and Navy this Thursday morning struck and destroyed 18 vital US military targets at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base, and Sheikh Isa Air Base,” stated an official release issued by the IRGC on Thursday (11/6/2026).

The IRGC added that the strikes serve as punishment for the aggressor, as well as a direct response to what it deemed indiscriminate US military attacks against several IRGC service units, coast guard posts, police command, and the area of Bandar Abbas Airport.

Simultaneously, Iran’s Armed Forces announced in a separate statement that following the violation of a ceasefire and the invasion of southern Iran by US military forces, it immediately deployed various types of combat drones to target the US Fifth Fleet based in Bahrain. In this wave of drone attacks, the Iranian military claims to have successfully targeted the communication antennae and radar installations of the Patriot air defence system belonging to the US Fifth Fleet.

Through the announcement, the Iranian military asserted that alongside other armed forces elements, they remain in a state of full readiness to confront the enemy and will not stand idle until the aggressor faces the consequences of its actions.
