Iran's Response to the Arrival of Pakistan's Army Chief Delivering a US Message

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, welcomed Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in Tehran on Wednesday (15/4/2026). He emphasised the strength of bilateral relations and the joint commitment to regional peace.

In a message posted on his X account on Wednesday evening, Araqchi expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s role as host of the dialogue. He also highlighted the depth of relations between the two countries, while reaffirming Tehran’s commitment to promoting stability in the region.

“I am pleased to welcome Field Marshal Munir to Iran,” he said.

“I convey my thanks for Pakistan’s hospitality in hosting the dialogue, which reflects our deep and strong bilateral relations. Our commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region remains firm and is a shared commitment,” Araqchi added.

Field Marshal Asim Munir arrived in Tehran as the head of a high-level political-security delegation. He came to deliver a message from the United States and open the way for the next round of Iran-US negotiations.
