Iran's IRGC Claims Attacks on US Steel Facilities in UAE, Bahrain
Tehran (ANTARA) - The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked US steel facilities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and an aluminium smelting plant in Bahrain, stated Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for Iran’s central military command headquarters, Khatam Al-Anbiya.
“The targets of this wave of attacks are US steel facilities located in Abu Dhabi, US aluminium production facilities in Bahrain, and military industrial facilities from the Israeli weapons manufacturer Rafael,” Zolfaghari said, as quoted by the IRIB television station on Thursday.
According to him, Iran also attacked a US military base near Manama in Bahrain. In addition, the IRGC carried out a series of attacks on three Israeli air force bases: Tel Nof, Palmahim, and Ben Gurion.
Iran attacked Israeli territory and several US military targets in the Middle East in response to a joint military operation launched by the US and Israel on 28 February.
The first day of that joint military action killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, while a girls’ school in southern Iran was also bombed.
Iran estimates the number of fatalities from those attacks at more than 1,200 people.
