Iran's Foreign Minister Sends Eid al-Fitr Greetings to Indonesia, Here is His Message
The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to Muslims in the Southeast Asia (ASEAN) region, including Indonesia. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, conveyed his message via his official X (formerly Twitter) account. Araghchi specifically mentioned Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam, countries with majority Muslim populations in ASEAN. The greetings were also directed to the governments of these nations. Araghchi expressed thanks to the supportive communities for condemning the United States (US) and Israeli attacks on Iran on 28 February, which escalated tensions and caused the largest oil supply disruption in history. “Eid al-Fitr Mubarak. Thank you to the governments and Muslim communities, as well as lovers of justice in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei), who condemned the brutal aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against the Muslim nation of Iran during Ramadan and demonstrated solidarity,” read the post from @araghchi on Sunday (22/3/2026). The tweet has garnered 3,900 reposts and 18,000 likes. Iran declared Eid al-Fitr 1447 H on Saturday, 21 March 2026, amidst ongoing conflicts with the US and Israel. This decision followed the rukyatul hilal observation, which did not sight the crescent moon, thus completing Ramadan at 30 days.
