Iran's Foreign Minister: Russia and China Continue to Provide Political Support to Tehran
Following fresh tensions in the Middle East, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Russia and China continue to provide political support to Tehran amid US and Israeli military operations in the region. ‘They support us politically, and in other aspects,’ Araghchi told NBC in response to questions about the matter. He refused to discuss in detail Iran’s cooperation with other countries, adding, ‘I will not provide details of our cooperation with other countries, right in the middle of the war.’ On 28 February, the United States and Israel launched attacks on multiple targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. The attack killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran then responded by attacking Israel and several US military bases across the region. Russian President Vladimir Putin said the killing of Khamenei cynically violates all moral norms and international law. The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the US and Israel attacks and urged them to de-escalate immediately and stop the hostilities. Source: Sputnik-OANA
