Iran's Conditions if the US Wants to Return to the Negotiating Table
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHERAN – Iran states that negotiations with the United States (US) will only take place if Tehran expresses its will and Washington fully eliminates its intent to act against the Iranian people. Former US President Donald Trump had previously claimed that the US and Iran would soon return to the negotiating table to end the war.
“Negotiations will only occur if it is our will and if the intent to act against the Iranian people is completely eliminated,” said Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters military, on Wednesday (25/3), as quoted by Tasnim news agency.
“Until it becomes our will, nothing will return to normal. This will only happen when the intent to act against the Iranian people is completely erased from your dirty minds,” he stated.
“Our first and last word — from the first day — is that we will never negotiate with parties like you. Not now and never,” he added.
Meanwhile, a report by The New York Times on Tuesday (24/3/2026), citing anonymous officials, mentioned that Washington has conveyed a 15-point plan to Tehran to resolve the Middle East conflict amid increasing impacts on the US economy.
