The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that a US-Israel attack killed its spokesman, General Ali Mohammad Naini. Naini’s death adds to the long list of Iranian leaders killed in US and Israeli attacks.

Quoted from AFP, Arab News, and Al Jazeera on Friday (20/3/2026), Naini “fell in a cowardly and criminal terrorist attack by the American-Zionist side at dawn,” the Revolutionary Guard said in a statement on their Sepah News website.

The previous night, quoted by Al Jazeera, Naini said Tehran is still building missiles, to refute Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claim that Iran is no longer capable of doing so.

General Ali Mohammad Naeini made the comment in a report quoted by the Iranian government-owned IRAN newspaper.

“Our missile industry score is 20 and there is no concern in this regard because we produce missiles even under war conditions, which is extraordinary, and there is no special problem in stockpiling.”

Twenty is a perfect score, according to the Iranian education system. The IRGC spokesman said the war would continue.

“These people expect the war to continue until the enemy is truly exhausted,” the general said about the Iranian public. “This war must end when the shadow of war has vanished from this country.”

In a press conference on Thursday (19/3), quoted by AFP, Netanyahu said Israel and the United States “won” the war that began when allies launched attacks against Iran.

“We took action to destroy the industries that enable missile production. Iran no longer has the capability to enrich uranium and produce ballistic missiles,” said the veteran Israeli leader.

“We won and Iran is being destroyed.”
