Iranian Official: US Manipulating Peace to Calm Financial Markets and Oil Prices

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ISTANBUL – Iran’s parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has denied that Tehran is currently negotiating with the United States. He described such reports as ‘fake news’ intended to manipulate the oil and financial markets.

“There are no negotiations underway with the United States. Those fake news reports are meant to manipulate the financial and oil markets and to escape the chaos that has trapped the US and Israel,” Ghalibaf stated via social media platform X on Monday.

Ghalibaf added that the Iranian people demand full punishment that will bring regret to the aggressors. Officials, he said, stand firmly in support of the nation’s leadership and the people until the war’s goals are achieved.

Previously, US President Donald Trump stated that he had ordered a delay of all attacks on power generation and energy infrastructure for the next five days.

Trump continued that this was due to dialogues with Tehran over the past two days having been “very good and productive”.
