Tehran (ANTARA) - Mojtaba Khamenei is in a “very good health condition” and continues to carry out his duties as Iran’s Supreme Leader, a senior official said, refuting reports about his condition. Mohsen Qomi, deputy for international affairs in the Office of Iran’s Supreme Leader, stated on Friday (1/5) that Khamenei remains actively involved in decision-making and managing state affairs, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency. Qomi described reports about Khamenei’s health as “rumours deliberately spread by enemy forces” to create uncertainty, provoke reactions, and advance their agenda. Khamenei became Iran’s Supreme Leader in early March after being elected by the Assembly of Experts, succeeding his late father, Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a United States-Israel attack in Tehran on 28 February. Iranian officials had previously stated that Mojtaba Khamenei was injured in the airstrike but remains capable of leading the country. He has issued several statements since taking office but has not yet appeared in public.
