Iranian missiles strike US military base in Kuwait, injuring over 100 troops
Iran claimed to have successfully launched a missile and drone attack against United States military facilities in Kuwait. The assault reportedly injured more than 100 American soldiers.
The statement was issued by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday, 11 March, which described the operation as the 38th wave of Operation True Promise 4.
According to Tasnim news agency, the IRGC stated the attack focused on the US helicopter base at Al-Udairi Air Base. Two missile strikes reportedly struck the facility almost simultaneously.
“The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Navy conducted a strong and decisive operation against the remnants of American military forces in the region on the night of Lailatul Qadar, as part of the 38th wave of Operation True Promise 4,” the IRGC stated.
According to the IRGC, the attack rendered many American military personnel unable to perform their duties. More than 100 soldiers were claimed injured.
The IRGC also stated it had targeted important American military infrastructure in the region. One such facility was Mina Salman Port, which serves as the headquarters of the United States Fifth Fleet.
Additionally, the IRGC stated that Patriot air defence systems, military equipment storage facilities, and American troop barracks at Ali Al-Salem Air Base and Mohammad Al-Ahmad Naval Base also sustained damage from the strikes.
Iranian military officials asserted that operations against American and Israeli forces would continue as long as the conflict persisted.
“We only desire the total surrender of our enemies. War will end when the shadow of war truly disappears from our nation,” the IRGC stated.
