Iranian Missiles Strike Airports in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, 1 Dead and 11 Injured

Several areas in the United Arab Emirates became targets of retaliatory strikes from Iran. One of the locations struck by Iranian missiles was Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi.

“Abu Dhabi Airport confirms an incident at Zayed International Airport that resulted in one death of an Asian national and seven wounded,” said the airport’s managing authority in a statement posted on X, according to AFP reporting on Sunday (1 March 2026).

According to Anadolu Agency, Dubai International Airport also came under Iranian missile attack on Sunday morning Dubai time. Four airport staff members were reported injured.

In a post on X, Dubai Airports confirmed that a waiting area at Dubai International Airport (DXB) sustained minor damage in the incident. The incident was said to have been handled swiftly.

The four injured staff members received immediate medical attention.

The statement added that, due to existing emergency procedures, most terminals had been evacuated of passengers beforehand.

The United States and Israel were known to have attacked Iran on Saturday (28 February) morning Iran time. Iran responded to the attack by striking several US military bases in the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have stated that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in an airstrike in Tehran. Iran has not yet issued any statement regarding this claim.
