THE IRANIAN ARMY warned it would open a new front with new tactics and equipment if attacked again, amid rising tensions with Israel and the United States. Spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia of the Ground Forces made the remarks during a public event at Valiasr Square, Tehran. ‘The Islamic Republic of Iran cannot be blockaded or defeated,’ Akraminia said, as reported by ISNA, one of the country’s leading media outlets. He stressed that should the enemy resume attacks on Iran, the armed forces would respond with a new strategy. ‘If the enemy stupidity again causes them to fall into the Zionist trap and launches a new aggression against our dear Iran, we will open a new front against them with new tools and methods,’ he said. The statement comes amid a fragile ceasefire between Iran and its opponents after conflict that began in February. Akraminia said the Armed Forces are using the ceasefire period to strengthen combat capabilities. He added that the army regards the ceasefire as a period of active warfare and will use this pause to boost its fighting power. He also emphasised Iran’s full control over the Strait of Hormuz and suggested the situation in this strategic waterway would not return to what it was before. ‘The only way for the enemy is to respect the Iranian nation and the legitimate rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran,’ he concluded.
