Iranian Foreign Ministry: Mojtaba Khamenei Wounded
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is wounded but in good condition, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, who did not specify when Khamenei would deliver his first address as supreme leader.
Regarding ceasefire conditions, Baghaei stated that Iran currently remains focused on efforts to protect its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
“He is wounded, but his condition is good. I do not know when he will deliver his first speech as supreme leader,” Baghaei told the newspaper Corriere della Sera.
On the ceasefire terms, Baghaei said that Iran is currently focused on protecting the integrity and sovereignty of Iranian territory.
“In June 2025, after 12 days, the United States and Israel said, ‘Let us stop’; and we stopped. (The call for) a ceasefire is a funny charade. That is why the entire country is now determined to defend itself,” Baghaei said.
The spokesman’s remarks reflect tensions following alleged military confrontations and underline Iran’s stated commitment to military readiness and territorial defence.
