Iranian Foreign Minister: US Officials Manipulate Energy Market for Personal Gain
Tehran (ANTARA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country’s intelligence indicates efforts by United States government officials to manipulate the energy market for personal gain.
“Our intelligence shows significant attempts to manipulate the energy market. A number of US government elements are using easily influenced media to influence prices for personal profit… Actors aligned with Israel are also pushing for war by delivering overly optimistic assessments,” Araghchi wrote on the X platform on Saturday.
On 28 February, the United States and Israel attacked several targets in Iran, which Tehran subsequently responded to with similar attacks.
In mid-June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum of understanding to cease hostilities, but shortly thereafter, both parties resumed attacks against one another.
The conflict remains unresolved, and while there is currently no active hostility, Washington has chosen to increase economic pressure on Iran as part of an effort to end the conflict by creating additional financial difficulties for Tehran.
