Tehran (ANTARA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will meet with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi during his visit to Switzerland. During the visit, he will also hold a new round of indirect talks with the United States, according to Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Sunday.

“During this visit, the Foreign Minister… will meet and hold talks with the foreign ministers of Switzerland, Oman, and the IAEA Director General,” the ministry said in a statement on Telegram.

Araghchi has departed for Geneva, where his talks with the US will take place on 17 February, the statement added.

Previously, US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that he could negotiate a far better deal with Iran at this stage. “President Trump is open-minded, and as he has said, he believes he can now secure a far better deal from Iran following Operation Midnight Hammer on 22 June,” US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Fox News on Wednesday (11/2), adding that whether the deal materialises depends on Tehran.

Bessent also noted that Trump and War Secretary Pete Hegseth would be making a number of decisions amid the redeployment of Washington’s military assets towards Iran.
