Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has endangered the lives of his citizens by allowing British bases to be used for aggression against Iran.

“Most of the British people do not want to be involved in Israel’s optional war with the US against Iran. By ignoring his own people, Starmer is endangering British lives by allowing British bases to be used for aggression against Iran. Iran will use its right to self-defence,” Araghchi wrote on X.

The statement came after the UK government approved on Friday the use of British bases by the US for attacks on Iranian missile sites.

On 28 February, the United States and Israel launched attacks on several targets in Iran, including in Tehran, which caused damage and civilian casualties, as well as killing Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran responded by launching attacks on Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.
