Iranian Foreign Minister Calls Netanyahu a 'Snake' Deceiving the US into War
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “snake” who has deceived the United States into waging war against Iran.
“In Hebrew, Netanyahu openly boasts about how he deceived the US government into becoming involved in a war against Iran, in the interest of Israel,” Araghchi stated via a post on social media platform X, as reported by AFP and TRT World on Tuesday (1/9/2026).
“Netanyahu openly laughs at how he ‘influenced’ America through 1,000-hour broadcasts across various US television networks,” he added.
“In English, he praises the leadership of the POTUS,” the Iranian Foreign Minister said, referring to US President Donald Trump.
“A total snake,” Araghly remarked, mocking Netanyahu.
War broke out between Iran, the US, and Israel on 28 February, during which large-scale attacks by the allied nations resulted in the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and several high-ranking military officials in Tehran.
Iran retaliated by targeting US military facilities and assets across various regions of the Middle East.
A ceasefire in April briefly halted the fighting, but sporadic attacks, particularly near the Strait of Hormuz, have dampened hopes for a permanent peace agreement.
Recently, the US has shifted towards implementing a strategy they refer to as “economic strangulation” against Iran.
On Sunday (30/8), US forces struck Larak Island, located in southern Iran. US Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed the strike targeted two Iranian rocket launchers after detecting the Iranian Revolutionary Guard preparing to launch mine-laden rockets towards the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran reacted strongly by launching missiles and drones at US bases in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
While Israel did not participate in the direct attacks on Iran, Netanyahu dismissed the possibility of an agreement between Tehran and Washington last week. The Israeli Prime Minister also referred to Iranian leaders as “barbarians”.
