Moscow (ANTARA) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticised European leaders for repeatedly making claims he considers erroneous regarding Iran’s nuclear programme, as reported by Iranian television, Press TV, on Sunday.

In his conversation with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, Araghchi expressed his disappointment over the policies of European countries, which he views as non-constructive and irresponsible on this issue.

Furthermore, Araghchi emphasised that Iran’s nuclear programme is entirely peaceful. He also urged European countries to condemn the aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran and to hold them accountable for alleged serious violations of international law.

Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, told RIA Novosti in March that, based on its security doctrine and the fatwa of its spiritual leader, Iran has repeatedly stated that it is not developing nuclear weapons and that its nuclear programme is peaceful.
