Smoke rose after a drone strike burned the offices and warehouses of American companies Halliburton and KBR in Basra, Iraq, on Saturday, 7 March 2026. The fire’s focal point was the chemical warehouse owned by Halliburton. However, the specific chemicals stored at Halliburton’s facility were not disclosed. Thick black smoke and sizeable flames were visible at the site, which also housed foreign oil workers. The strike against Halliburton signals that Iran and its factions in the Middle East are unwilling to bow to orders from U.S. President Donald Trump.
