Iranian Embassy Urges Indonesia to Condemn US-Israeli Attacks on Tehran
JAKARTA — The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia has called for public and government support to jointly condemn missile attacks by Israel and the United States on Tehran on Saturday, 28 February 2026. The missile strikes marked the beginning of open military conflict between the Israel-US alliance and Iran.
The Iranian Embassy in Jakarta stated that the attacks constitute an act of aggression and a violation of international law. Iran maintains that it possesses the right under international law to defend its sovereignty and protect itself through the use of armed force.
“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia calls on the Indonesian government and people, political leaders, religious and Islamic organisations, academics, and media professionals to firmly and openly condemn the start of war and aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” according to an official statement from the Iranian Embassy in Jakarta on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
On Saturday afternoon Iranian time, Israel launched missiles at several cities in Tehran. The attacks also involved the United States. The strikes mark the beginning of open military conflict between Israel-US and Iran, tensions which have escalated in recent times.
According to reports from the Iranian Embassy in Jakarta, the attacks struck civilian locations and vital infrastructure in Tehran. The attacks are characterised as violations of international law.
“The attack by the United States alongside the Zionist regime of Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran constitutes a violation of Article 2, paragraph 4 of the United Nations Charter. It represents an act of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the embassy’s statement continued.
