Iranian Embassy Urges Indonesia to Condemn US-Israeli Aggression
Jakarta – Iran’s embassy in Jakarta has urged the Indonesian government to condemn what it characterises as United States and Israeli aggression against Iran, which occurred on Saturday, 28 February 2026. According to the embassy, a firm stance is necessary in responding to US and Israeli actions that frequently violate the UN Charter and international law.
“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia, whilst expressing appreciation for the consistent support of the Indonesian government and people and welcoming the readiness of the President of the Republic of Indonesia to mediate in this conflict, emphasises the importance of Indonesian officials taking a firm stance in condemning the aggression and crimes of the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel,” said the Iranian embassy in a statement received by Republika on Sunday, 1 March 2026.
Previously, Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry had stated that the Indonesian President is prepared to travel to Tehran to mediate between Iran and the US and Israel. In its statement, the Iranian embassy confirmed the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a result of the combined US-Israeli air strikes.
“With deep regret, in this barbarous attack, His Eminence Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, achieved martyrdom at his office,” said the Iranian embassy.
According to the Iranian embassy, during the attack last Saturday, the US and Israel also targeted civilian facilities, including several schools. “In the initial hours, several schools became targets of missiles from the United States and the Zionist regime. In this brutal attack, a primary school in Minab County was completely destroyed and nearly 200 innocent girls achieved martyrdom,” it stated.
