Iranian Embassy states Mojtaba Khamenei's selection demonstrates system strength
Jakarta — Iran’s Embassy in Jakarta has stated that the selection of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei as Iran’s new Supreme Leader proves that the selection system is not dependent on a single individual, but is instead grounded in the rule of law, popular voice, and divine values.
Mojtaba Khamenei is the son of the late Ayatollah al-Udzma Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, who was killed in a US-Israeli attack on Iran.
In a press statement received in Jakarta on Monday, Iran’s Embassy stated that despite the loss of a great leader, numerous senior officials, and military commanders, Iran’s system of government will continue to function with resilience and strength under new leadership in efforts to uphold truth and justice in the world.
It was noted that in the selection, which provided solace to grieving and fasting Iranian citizens, Mojtaba Khamenei obtained more than 85 per cent of the votes from the Leadership Expert Council (Majelis Khobregan Kepemimpinan), and was thereby designated as Iran’s third Supreme Leader.
Members of the Expert Council continued to carry out their significant and weighty duties as best as possible and in the shortest possible time in selecting the new leader, despite conditions fraught with risk and threat.
Meanwhile, on Monday morning, under the command of new leadership Mojtaba Khamenei, Operation “Promise of Faithfulness 4” phase 30 was launched against Israeli territories.
The operation targeted 7,943 residential units, 1,617 commercial and service centres, 32 medical and pharmacy centres, 65 schools and educational facilities, 13 Red Crescent Society buildings, as well as numerous energy infrastructure facilities.
On the sixth day of aggression against Iran, the US and Israel also attacked the Iranian warship “Dena” at a distance of over 2,000 nautical miles from Iran’s coast, resulting in the deaths of 104 Iranian personnel, according to reports.
