Iranian Embassy Responds to Missile Attacks on Israel: A New War Erupting?
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia has responded to its country’s missile attacks on Israel, stating that the strikes constitute Iran’s right to self-defence as stipulated in Article 51 of the United Nations (UN) Charter.
In a press release received on Monday (8 June 202<0xA0>6), Iran claimed that there have been repeated violations of the 8 April 2026 ceasefire by Israel and the United States (US). Consequently, Iran acted using its inherent right to retaliate.
“Following repeated violations of the ceasefire… as well as the continued acts of aggression by the Zionist regime against Lebanon and the Islamic Republic of Iran—including through cooperation with US terrorist military forces in attacks over the past two weeks against Iranian ships and various targets in the southern region of our country, as well as their involvement with the US in maritime piracy against the Iranian people—the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Sunday night, 7 June 2026, exercised their inherent right to self-defence,” the statement read.
“As stipulated in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, [the forces] have attacked several military targets in the territory of occupied northern Palestine,” it added.
The Embassy also stated that its nation is determined to firmly defend its security and national interests wherever necessary. It reminded that the ceasefire in Lebanon is an inseparable part of previous ceasefire agreements.
“Therefore, the US Government (Donald Trump) bears direct responsibility for the various ceasefire violations committed by the Zionist regime and all the consequences arising from them, including any escalation of tension in the region,” the statement continued.
“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia emphasises that any provocative and aggressive adventures undertaken by the Zionist regime against Lebanon or the Islamic Republic of Iran will be met with a firm, comprehensive, and devastating response from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the Embassy concluded.
