Iranian Embassy Provides Aid to 200 Indonesian Students, Commemorating 175 Iranian Schoolgirls
Jakarta — The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jakarta provided assistance to 200 Muslim Indonesian students in Jakarta to commemorate 175 schoolgirls killed in Minab, Hormozgan Province, Iran, following joint attacks by the United States and Israel.
“Today we gather and pay respects here to remember the 175 primary schoolgirls in Minab who were attacked and targeted by the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel,” said Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia Mohammad Boroujerdi at his residence in Jakarta on Saturday.
On 28 February 2026, the US and Israel launched a series of attacks against multiple targets in Iran, including Tehran. The attacks caused extensive damage and claimed hundreds of civilian lives, including 175 pupils at Shajareh Tayyebeh Special Girls’ Primary School in Minab, southern Hormozgan Province, Iran. The attacks also wounded more than 95 children at the school.
The assistance was provided both to commemorate the fallen schoolgirls and as a gesture of empathy and humanitarian solidarity with the families of the victims. The event also served as a reminder that such tragedies must not be forgotten so that justice and efforts for peace can continue to be upheld.
The assistance ceremony at the Iranian Embassy was attended by 200 schoolgirls from 13 Islamic foundations across various regions of Indonesia. The event included expressions of condolences and joint prayers for the schoolgirls killed in the US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
Through the joint prayers, Ambassador Boroujerdi expressed hope that no more children would become victims of attacks such as those experienced by the 175 schoolgirls in Iran.
“I pray for the safety, welfare and success of all you young people present throughout your lives. I pray that you will never face, witness, or experience the conditions of war that our nation’s children are currently enduring,” the Ambassador said.
