Iranian Embassy in Jakarta Strongly Condemns US and Israeli Attacks on Iran
Jakarta – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia has issued a forceful condemnation of military strikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iranian territory.
“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia firmly condemns these aggressive and criminal actions against Iran’s territorial integrity,” according to a statement released by the Iranian Embassy in Jakarta on Saturday.
On Saturday morning, 28 February, the United States and the Israeli Zionist regime launched strikes against civilian locations and vital infrastructure in Tehran and several other cities, thereby violating the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The US and Israeli attacks on Iran constitute a violation of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter and represent a manifest act of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iran views the actions of Washington and Tel Aviv as a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.
Responding to such aggression is a legitimate right of Iran under Article 51 of the UN Charter, the statement continued.
The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will exercise this right fully in order to preserve territorial integrity and national sovereignty by delivering a firm and strong response to the aggression of the Israeli Zionist regime and the United States, the statement said.
As a founding UN member whose primary purpose is to prevent aggression, breaches of peace, and threats to peace, the Islamic Republic of Iran affirms the responsibility of the UN Security Council to take immediate action in response to the breach of international peace and security resulting from the overt aggression of the Zionist regime against Iran.
Iran calls on the President and Members of the Security Council to take steps in this matter without delay.
The Iranian Embassy in Indonesia also hopes that the Indonesian government and people, political leaders, religious and Islamic organisations, academics, and media professionals will firmly and openly condemn the outbreak of war and aggression against the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
