Iranian Embassy Expresses Condolences over Death of Indonesian Peacekeeper in UNIFIL
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has conveyed its profound condolences to the Government and people of Indonesia over the tragic death of an Indonesian peacekeeper serving in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). In its official statement, the Iranian Embassy expressed deep sorrow over the loss. “The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran extends its deepest condolences to the Government and people of Indonesia over this tragic incident,” the statement from the Iranian Embassy, as quoted on X, read on Monday (30/3). The Embassy also strongly condemned the incident that led to the death of the peacekeeping personnel. “We strongly condemn this heinous act, which is a direct consequence of Israel’s ongoing aggression, carried out with the full involvement and support of the United States,” the statement added. Furthermore, Iran asserted that actions targeting peacekeeping forces represent a serious violation of international law. “We firmly condemn this act and affirm that targeting peacekeepers is a serious violation of international law,” it continued. The statement also stressed the importance of accountability for the incident. “Targeting peacekeeping forces is a grave violation of international law and must not go unpunished,” the statement concluded.
