Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jakarta has expressed appreciation for the support of the Indonesian government and people, as well as the readiness of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to mediate the conflict between Iran and the United States.

In an official statement released on Sunday (1 March), the Iranian Embassy also called on Indonesian officials to take a firm stance in condemning what it described as American and Israeli aggression.

In the statement, Iran accused both countries of violations of the UN Charter, international law, and international humanitarian law.

“Iran’s hostility with America is not new; it is rooted in seven decades of Iranian history. American intervention, aggression and hostility towards Iran began with the coup of 19 August 1953,” the Iranian Embassy said in its statement.

The statement cited several alleged violations by the United States, including direct attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities in June 2025.

The United States and Israel were also accused of exploiting Iran’s peaceful public protests in January 2026, which escalated into riots and violence, according to the Iranian Embassy.

The culmination was an attack on Saturday morning that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

The attack also struck several civilian locations, including schools, resulting in casualties, including children.
