Iranian Embassy Appreciates Prabowo's Readiness to Mediate Following US-Israel Attacks
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia has expressed appreciation for the readiness of President Prabowo Subianto to mediate the conflict following attacks by the United States and Israel. The Iranian Embassy has emphasised the importance of Indonesia’s firm diplomatic stance.
“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia expresses appreciation for the consistent support of the Indonesian Government and people, and welcomes the readiness of the President of the Republic of Indonesia to conduct mediation in this conflict,” said the Iranian Embassy in Jakarta on Sunday, 1 March 2026.
The Iranian Embassy has reminded of the importance of Indonesia’s officials taking a firm stance in this conflict.
“Reaffirming the importance of firm positions by Indonesian officials in condemning the aggression and crimes of the United States of America and the Zionist regime of Israel,” it stated.
Previously, Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu RI) expressed concern over the failure of negotiations between the United States and Iran, which has resulted in military escalation in the Middle East region. The Foreign Ministry stated that Indonesia deeply regrets this situation.
“Indonesia deeply regrets the failure of negotiations between the US and Iran, which has resulted in military escalation in the Middle East region,” according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry’s X account on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
“Indonesia calls on all parties to exercise restraint and prioritise dialogue and diplomacy,” it added.
The Foreign Ministry emphasised the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each nation. Additionally, it stressed the importance of resolving differences through peaceful means.
“The Government of Indonesia, in this instance the President of the Republic of Indonesia, has conveyed its readiness to facilitate dialogue to restore conducive security conditions, and if agreed by both parties, the President of Indonesia is willing to depart for Tehran to conduct mediation,” it stated.
