Iranian drone also damages CIA headquarters in Saudi Arabia, in addition to attack on the U.S. Embassy

The CIA station in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is also reported to have been hit by an Iranian drone attack. The report follows Iran’s drone assault on the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which caused a blaze.

According to CNN, on Wednesday (4 March 2026), citing sources, the CIA headquarters in Riyadh was also hit by an Iranian drone attack believed to have occurred on Monday at the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia.

There were no fatalities reported as a result of the attack. However, substantial damage was reported to the building, which is located in the same complex as the embassy, according to the sources.

The Washington Post also reported this, noting that the CIA station was affected by the attack. However, the CIA declined to comment on the matter.

Earlier, Iran launched two drones targeting the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia, causing a fire and damage. No injuries were reported in the incident.

But two other Iranian drones are alleged to have struck in or near the embassy precinct, another source said.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had begun efforts to destroy “American political centres” in the region.

“The explosions at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, are a step in this direction,” the IRGC wrote on Telegram.
