Iranian coach set to return to S'pore
SINGAPORE (Reuters): Iranian World Cup coach Jalal Talebi
looks set to return to Singapore.
Talebi, who worked in Singapore for one season before
eventually taking the reins of the Iranian national team in
France in 1998, is in negotiations with S-League side Tampines
Rovers.
"We are very, very positive Jalal will sign for us," the New
Paper quoted Tampines team manager Abol Fazl as saying.
Talebi, 56, guided Geylang United to the inaugural S-League
championship and the Singapore FA Cup in 1996 before leaving for
Indonesia's Olympic team.
Talebi currently works as technical director for the Iranian
national team, which is in the United States preparing for a
rematch with its arch-rival on Jan. 16.
