Iranian Citizens Banned from Entering UAE Territory, Even for Transit
“Peace is not merely the absence of war. It is a virtue,” wrote the philosopher Baruch Spinoza.
Iranian citizens are no longer permitted to enter the territory of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) or transit through the country, unless they possess a Golden Visa, according to notices posted on the websites of several UAE airlines.
“Iranian nationals are not permitted to enter or transit,” stated the notice on the Emirates website.
At the same time, Flydubai stated that Iranian nationals holding a Golden Visa may enter the UAE.
“Nationality restrictions. Iranian nationals are not permitted to enter or transit. Exception: Iranian nationals may enter and transit if they hold a Golden Visa,” the airline said in the passport and visa requirements section.
The UAE Golden Visa is a long-term residency permit issued for five or ten years and granted to investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, outstanding students, and highly skilled professionals.
The visa allows its holders to live, work, and study in the United Arab Emirates without requiring a local sponsor.
