Iranian Ambassador: We need nothing but victory against the US and Israel

Moscow — Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, stated on Thursday that Iran requires nothing except victory in its confrontation with the United States and Israel.

“We are fighting to win and we do not demand anything, except victory. Trump and Netanyahu must know that,” Jalali told the international multimedia news agency Rossiya Segodnya.

The United States must compensate Iran for all damage caused by its attacks, Jalali added, whilst also lifting sanctions against Iran.

Arab nations have also come to realise that US military forces cannot guarantee their security, Jalali said.

Earlier on 28 February, the United States and Israel launched attacks on targets in Iran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran responded by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.

The US and Israel initially claimed their operations were necessary to counter threats they associated with Iran’s nuclear programme. However, they subsequently clarified that the strikes were conducted because they wished to see regime change in Iran.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed on the first day of the US and Israeli military operation. The Islamic Republic of Iran declared a 40-day period of mourning.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry condemned the US-Israeli operation and called for immediate de-escalation and an end to hostilities.
