Iranian Ambassador Visits Megawati for Halalbihalal, Stops at Home Before Heading to PDIP Headquarters

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Indonesia, Mohammad Boroujerdi, visited the home of Indonesia’s sixth President, Megawati Soekarnoputri, for halalbihalal on Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, Saturday (21/3/2026).

Based on observations at the location, Boroujerdi and his wife arrived at Megawati’s house at 11.14 WIB.

Before he could enter Mega’s house, Boroujerdi was directed to join the halalbihalal event to be held at the PDIP Central Executive Board office.

A minute later, the car carrying Megawati and her son, Muhammad Prananda Prabowo, left the house on Jalan Teuku Umar, Menteng, heading to the PDIP Central Executive Board office on Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng.

Before holding the halalbihalal at PDIP, Megawati first received several guests who came to pay respects at her home.

Those seen visiting Mega’s home for halalbihalal were the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno.

Through his official statement, Megawati conveyed Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah greetings to all Muslims in Indonesia.

“On this joyous day, Ibu Megawati Soekarnoputri, and the entire extended PDI Perjuangan family, extend Eid al-Fitr 1447 H greetings, forgiveness for both physical and spiritual shortcomings,” said PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto in his statement, Saturday (21/3/2026).

Megawati did not hold an open house during the Eid al-Fitr moment. She only received visits from her relatives.

“As a tradition that is always maintained, Ibu Megawati celebrates Eid al-Fitr in a family atmosphere, full of warmth and togetherness with the extended family and her friends, featuring typical Nusantara Lebaran dishes,” said Hasto.
