Iranian Ambassador Receives Condolence Letter from Prabowo
Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia Mohamad Boroujerdi revealed that President Prabowo Subianto had sent an official condolence letter to the President of Iran in connection with the events that occurred in Iran. Boroujerdi said he had received many messages of solidarity from Indonesian academics, intellectuals, teachers, entrepreneurs, representatives of organisations, ulama, and various figures expressing their condolences. ‘We have also received an official condolence letter from His Excellency Mr Prabowo Subianto to the President of Iran regarding the events that occurred. Many academics, scholars, teachers, among entrepreneurs, representatives of organisations, ulama, and various figures have expressed their solidarity and condolences,’ Boroujerdi said at his residence in Central Jakarta on Thursday, 5 March. He said Iran is in mourning following the death of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Boroujerdi expressed thanks to the Indonesian public who came to his residence to pray and offer condolences. ‘Our enemies killed our Great Leader by accusing him of seeking to develop nuclear weapons. This occurred at a time when he had already issued a fatwa declaring that the storage, production, and use of nuclear weapons is haram.’ He said he believed Iran would prevail against Israel and its allies. Boroujerdi prayed for Iranian troops who are fighting Israel. ‘This war also has another dimension, namely the dimension of narrative warfare. In order to counter it, we need your help to voice the truth, to voice the facts on the ground so that we can defeat the enemy who clearly has hands and influence, particularly in social media,’ he said. The US and Israel had previously launched attacks against Iran on Saturday, 28 March, which killed nearly 800 people, including the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Tehran then retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and several Gulf states that host US military assets.
