Praise be to God, Iran has achieved an absolute victory. And that victory was concluded with a ceasefire, after which our enemies proposed negotiations,” said Ambassador Boroujerdi at Paramadina University, Cipayung, East Jakarta, on Saturday (11/4/2026).

Although opening the door to dialogue, Ambassador Boroujerdi emphasised that Iran does not fully trust the US and Israel. He alluded to previous experiences, namely negotiation processes accompanied by attacks.

“We have no trust in our enemies, but we have good intentions. Because twice we negotiated, twice we were attacked,” he stated.

He also explained that Iran is pushing for the ceasefire to apply not only to its own country but also to encompass the entire Middle East region. “We propose that the ceasefire should not only occur in Iran, but cover the region,” he said.

Ambassador Boroujerdi further accused Israel of frequently violating ceasefire agreements in various conflict areas, from Palestine, Gaza, Lebanon, to Yemen.

According to him, in every negotiation effort, Iran brings several conditions, including demands for comprehensive peace in the region.

“Among the main conditions is peace in the region. If not accepted, there is no peace at all,” he asserted.

On that occasion, Ambassador Boroujerdi also touched on the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, which he described as still sensitive due to the conflict. He stated that ships passing through must adhere to strict protocols from Iranian security authorities.

“The Strait of Hormuz is currently not in a normal condition. It must go through several protocols set by the security side,” he concluded.
