The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia has stated that the attacks carried out by the Iranian Armed Forces on Sunday night (7/6/2026) were a response to repeated violations of the 8 April 2026 ceasefire, as well as the ongoing acts of aggression by Zionist Israel against Lebanon and Iran.

According to the statement, this aggression includes cooperation between Israel and the United States military in attacks over the past two weeks against Iranian ships and various targets in the southern region of Iran, as well as their involvement in actions described by Iran as maritime piracy against the Iranian people.

Consequently, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, citing the right to self-defence as stipulated in Article 51 of the United Nations (UN) Charter, launched attacks against several military targets in the occupied territories of northern Palestine.

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Indonesia, Mohammad Borouerdji, conveyed that the Embassy reaffirms the strong determination of the Iranian nation to firmly defend its security and national interests wherever necessary.

The Ambassador reminded that the ceasefire in Lebanon is an inseparable part of the ceasefire agreement dated 8 April 2026.
