The war between the United States (US) and Iran has ended peacefully after the two heads of state signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). Chairman of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that Tehran will not tolerate any violation of the MoU by the US.

Ghalibaf cautioned the US against attempting to breach the agreement. Should that happen, he said, Tehran would not hesitate to destroy the enemy.

‘If there is bad faith, breach of contract, and excessive demands from the opposing side, we will not hesitate to deliver a devastating response to the enemy,’ Ghalibaf said in a post on X.

Ghalibaf noted that the US had been slapped repeatedly during the war. If this agreement is violated, he said, the US will receive an even harder slap from Iran.

‘They were slapped during the war; if they want to go down that path again, they will receive an even harder slap,’ he stated.

US President Donald Trump signed the memorandum of understanding during a dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles following the G7 summit meeting on Wednesday night (17/6).

‘Just signed it,’ Trump said as he left the palace.

Separately, the Iranian government also confirmed it had signed the agreement document to end the war with the US.

‘The text of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding has been finalised with the signatures of the Presidents—now it is time to test the implementation of the agreement,’ said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei, as quoted by the state news agency IRNA.

Baqaei said the signing was carried out electronically and remotely by both Presidents, and that a formal ceremony ‘does not have much place’ in Iran’s plans.

Trump Admits Oil Reserves Only Last 4 Weeks

Trump has acknowledged that global oil reserves are on the critical brink, urging Washington to accept Iran’s terms for a framework agreement to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking at the G7 summit in France, Trump said that without a deal with Iran, the world would face ‘chaos’ because oil reserves would run out in about four weeks.
